Our Dental Hygienists provide treatment to help prevent dental problems occurring.

At the visit, teeth are scaled and polished clean thus removing harmful plaque and tartar as well as stains
The patient is shown the best way of keeping teeth as free of dental plaque as possible at home.

Some patients may require deeper scaling along the roots of the teeth (known as debridement) which may require a number of visits.

Local anaesthetic may be used in some cases to ensure that the patient is comfortable.

We will give advice on toothbrushes and the best brushing techniques.  We will also advise on all the different methods of cleaning between teeth as well as advice on diet and nutrition and the effects different food and drinks have on our teeth.
